That Red House is a cozy café tucked away in the residential corners of Ballygunge, Kolkata, offering a quiet alternative to the usual bustle of busy streets. The small setup, with around 20 seats, feels more like visiting a friend’s home than stepping into a commercial cafe—an intimate spot where familiar aromas and simple comfort food set the tone.

This place leans into both Indian and international flavors, serving up items like BBQ chicken pizza, fish with lemon sauce, and classic continental bites such as grilled chicken breast and Montecristo sandwiches. While the menu may not always be fully available (something visitors have noticed during quieter hours), the dishes that do make it to the table, like coffee and fish preparations, usually hit the mark without fuss. Their coffee, especially the americano, is appreciated for its warm serving and fresh aroma, making it a good stop for a casual caffeine fix.

The ambiance here is understated but inviting, with a neat, aesthetic decor that strikes a balance between cozy and contemporary. It doesn’t aim to wow with flashy interiors but instead offers a relaxed environment that works well for solo visitors looking to unwind, or small groups wanting a low-key hangout. Given its tucked-away location in an established colony and the feel of entering a home rather than a high-traffic café, it tends to attract local patrons who appreciate that calm and neighborly vibe.

Because footfall can fluctuate—especially during festival seasons like Durga Puja when seating might still be available if you’re lucky—it’s best to visit during mid-mornings or late afternoons for a more peaceful experience. The friendly service, while still ironing out some menu presentation kinks, adds to the relaxed atmosphere.

Overall, That Red House feels like a spot suited for those who enjoy a casual café experience that’s more about simple pleasures than polished perfection—a place to enjoy a good cup of coffee alongside comforting plates, without the noise and crowds of more central cafés.

Small place with 20+ seats offering a mix of Indian and international cuisine. The menu presented to us didn’t had all items on offer probably because of low footfall. We ordered coffee and fish with lemon sauce. Both were fine. Overall, satisfied. May be they will work on their menu (print a new one with available items only instead of forcing customers to scan a big menu with lots of unavailable items. Covid is gone so instead of data hoarding schemes, do some real work.

This cafe is a visual treat that serves up a storm! This aesthetic cafe's menu is a delight, with mouth-watering pizzas, crispy sandwiches, golden French fries, and expertly crafted coffee and cold beverages. Every bite and sip is a delight, and the Instagram-worthy decor makes it a must-visit spot. Cozy vibes, friendly staff, and delicious food - what more could you ask for? Perfect spot to catch up with friends or enjoy a solo retreat..

God I love this place, I call myself a critic cuz I love cafe hopping and rn this cafe has to be at the top of my list. It ticks all the boxes. Me and my partner visited here very recently during Durga pujo, a time you often expect a cafe to be fully packed but we were lucky that we got seats. The food is excellent and very reasonable, i swear, had the best pasta of my life ( even better that sorano and Sienna). I wish they don't change the price The atmosphere is very warm, you get a typical indie bong core vibe of pinterest...the staff behaviour and everything about this place is good. So a must visit If this place was not so far from my home, i would have visited here multiple times by now...but I'm going there very soon haha ;)

I'll say though, the location is very weird. Not the address itself, but how it's basically like entering someone's home in a middle of an established colony. This ain't a place that's in the forefront of a main road or a popular street. As for what I ordered: 1) Orange Squash: ₹75. 2) Cheese Stuffed Chicken: ₹360. 1] I did ask the waiter to add less ice, so he did, and this is the product. Honestly, it doesn't taste bad. You can weirdly taste the freshness of orange in it, not the artificial kind. I'll say, though, for ₹75, this is a bit steep, but on the other hand, you do get it in a glass with a glass straw. So overall, get this if you come here on a hot summer day. I'll say it's better than a regular Mojito. 2] I wanted to order roast chicken, but I was told it doesn't have chicken breast, but rather only a chicken leg piece (in my opinion, not a drumstick, but more like the leg piece you get in biryani). So I ordered this. Honestly, I don't hate it. For the price, it's decent, and I'll say it's value for money. Though I'll say the cheese here isn't the best quality, the sauce that came by the side tasted weird. But on the other hand, the herbed rice tasted really good, even with my jammed nostrils due to a cold. The chicken tasted between good and great, and the veggies were alright though.

I came across this cafe through a reel & visited it on Sashti 25, I was somewhat sceptical as this place was not that popular . But the moment me & my other friend entered this cafe we just loved it . You have to order from phone which is so easy and hassle free. We ordered Mushroom Stroganoff & Bhetki fish in lemon butter sauce & omg . Both of the dishes were so perfect . I loved the lemon butter sauce alot. For beverages my friend ordered Cranberry sorbet & I ordered Lemon iced tea . But again both of them were so so good. She again ordered another iced tea after tasting mine. The price is totally affordable for such good foods. Rightly priced. It was a very nice experience, its a beautiful place . Do visit.
